I've undergone training in mathematics education, specifically in the CPA (Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract) technique, which aligns with the Singapore approach. This method equips me to address the diverse learning styles of students by using concrete materials, visual representations, and abstract concepts in a structured progression. Through this approach, I guide students on when to memorize facts and when to concentrate on understanding the core concepts.
Through the Cuemath platform, I underwent training as a visual mentor and educator, which has been invaluable in my teaching approach. This training equips me with techniques to utilize props and models to create visual representations of mathematical concepts. I've learned to craft models myself, often showcasing them in video presentations and PowerPoint slides to help students better grasp the problems at hand.
In my role as a math educator, I typically focus on teaching students fundamental concepts such as number theory, money, probability, measurements, and algebra. To enhance both my own skills and those of my students, I underwent abacus training during my school career, aiming to improve calculation abilities. Additionally, I completed Vedic math training, which has been instrumental in understanding the diverse needs of students and identifying the most effective methods to improve their understanding and proficiency in mathematics.
Throughout my teaching career, I've been trained to effectively communicate with parents. In my previous roles, I regularly met with parents in person, typically on a monthly basis, to discuss their child's progress. In my online teaching career, I've continued this practice by conducting progress meetings every month to provide parents with updates on their child's development. Even during breaks in my teaching career, I've continued to offer classes to my former students, maintaining a connection with them and their families. In my interactions with parents, I prioritize transparency and focus on highlighting the positive changes and growth I observe in their children. Rather than dwelling on faults, I emphasize the progress and achievements made by each student. Parents appreciate this approach, as they are intimately familiar with their child's behavior and can readily notice even small improvements within a week of training. By maintaining disciplined yet supportive classroom environments, I strive to foster a sense of trust and satisfaction among both students and their parents.
My teaching methodology revolves around extensive practice and regular assignments. I firmly believe in ensuring that students thoroughly understand each topic before progressing to the next one. To achieve this, I require students to complete assignments and test exams after every chapter. This routine allows me to gain a comprehensive understanding of each student's abilities and challenges. By adhering to this method, I can effectively tailor my instruction to address the specific needs of each student. I use the insights gained from their performance on assignments and exams to identify areas for improvement and provide targeted support. This approach not only reinforces their learning but also enhances their skills over time. Moreover, this structured routine fosters a sense of accountability and discipline among students, as they know they must master each topic before moving forward. It also instills confidence in them as they see their progress through consistent practice and assessment. Overall, this method enables me to better support my students in their academic journey and helps them achieve their full potential.

My approach of assessing both the student's performance on tests and the parents' feedback on the results is commendable. This comprehensive evaluation ensures that the student has fully grasped the concept and is ready to move forward. Taking the time to understand each child's learning style and adapting my teaching methods accordingly is key to effective instruction. This personalized approach allows you to address the individual needs and preferences of each student, maximizing their learning potential. By prioritizing this understanding before advancing to the next topic, I create a solid foundation for continued growth and success in their academic journey.
I encountered a student who presented a learning disability and had faced repeated rejections from other teachers. He struggled to remain focused in class for more than 15 minutes. Recognizing the need for a different approach, I modified my teaching method by incorporating quiz breaks that were directly related to the topic being taught. This adjustment proved effective in maintaining his engagement and enabling him to actively participate in the lessons without distractions.
