In addition to being a native French speaker, I have followed a preparatory teaching French course in order to perfect my teaching and provide the learner with the most efficient learning experience. Depending on the learner's needs and goals, I will assemble the appropriate materials and resources suited for them. An example would be Quizlet tests in order to consolidate their learning after covering a certain topic. Depending on how comfortable the learner is, I will provide him/her with topic tests in order to track their progress. At the very end of the course, the learner will gain access to the database document where I would have been recording notes of their progress as they went along their lessons, in order to pinpoint exactly where their strengths and weaknesses are: reading this always proves to be incredibly rewarding and positive for the learner!
In my French lessons, I ensure a balanced integration of speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills to provide a comprehensive learning experience. This mainly includes conversational practice and accent perfection to better the speaking ability. Depending on the learner's needs and level, I like incorporating interactive listening comprehension exercises with follow-up questions to ensure understanding. Furthermore, to develop French writing ability, one of the best methods is to slowly work your way up to forming words, then sentences, then paragraphs. Once again, this depends on the learner's goals and there will not be any pressure to achieve this right away.
Depending on the learner's needs and goals, I will be providing optional worksheets in order for students to work through in their free time. Whether the learner chooses to complete the worksheet or not will not affect their learning during the actual lessons, but it will help them and speed up the learning process.
As previously mentioned, I believe engaging in conversations is one of the best ways to learn a Language and improve one's proficiency. This means repetitive training and accent perfection.
French grammar is very extensive due to the many tenses and situations, therefore I will be able to work alongside the learner in learning the more simple tenses like 'passé simple', 'futur simple' and 'présent de l'indicatif'. Once again the pace and the extent at which we cover these tenses depend on the learner's objectives, level and comfortability.
Of course! I am a firm believer that, in order to obtain the most productive results out of each session, I first need to understand the learner's preferences when it comes to learning. In fact this is exactly why I offer a free 30 minute trial session in order to discover this and gain a better insight on how to provide the learner with the best learning experience, suited to their desired form. During this session I will be asking simple questions to the learner so I can later on tailor my teaching to their preferences, for future lessons.
I will be providing an email address in order for the learners to contact me about any questions they may have, outside of lessons and for an unlimited time period. I truly am passionate about teaching and spreading the wonder that is French. I can also provide recommendations for additional learning platforms, along with key iconic French movies, books and other sources of French entertainment to ease the student's learning and implement more fun!
